How many infusion pumps are used at the hospitals in Birmingham under Heart of England, and what types of pumps are used (PCA, Volume pumps, syringe pumps etc.)

1. Do you have at least one static MRI system in your trust run by departmental radiographers? If so, how many?
4 static scanners across 3 hospital sites

2. Does your trust provide emergency MRI out-of-hours at weekends? If so, what hours are covered?
There are 8 emergency appointment slots at the weekend on the 4 scanners between the hours of 9am -5pm. There is no emergency cover outside of these hours at the weekend.

3. Does your trust provide an out-of-hour MRI list of weekdays? If so, what hours are covered?
Mon- Fri the 4 scanners provide a service 8am-8pm. There is no MRI service outside these hours.

4. Does your trust run regular elective MRI lists on weekend days? If so, what hours?
Elective lists are run 8am-8pm.

5. Are radiographers outside your core MRI team trained in MRI?
No

6. Including your core team how many radiographers are trained in basic MRI?
23 radiographers

There is no service outside 8am-8pm.

CQC warning notices

The Trust has received only 1 warning notice from the CQC, this was in 2014. The warning was received in 2014 and the audit carried out in 2013.

The number and a breakdown by ethnicity of staff who were immediately excluded whilst the investigation proceeded is only available for medics as there is a different disciplinary process for the rest of staff.

However we have also included data on number of other staff who were suspended.

Immediate and Formal Exclusion – This applies to doctors only. Doctors can be immediately excluded for a period of 2 weeks. Upon review this can lead to formal exclusion which is reviewed every 4 weeks.

Suspension – applies to all staff and is reviewed every 2 weeks.
