The Trust operates a number of initiatives to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
The Occupational Health department offers a number of services. Some examples if these include a free confidential counselling service, smoking cessation support, stress management services, access to a staff physiotherapist and subsidised aromatherapy massages.
Staff can self refer with any health problems or stress related difficulties which they feel may be caused by work or that prevent them doing their jobs safely.
Health & Safety Department
The Trust is determined to reduce incidents which have an impact on the health and safety of staff. The Health & Safety department provides training in Health & Safety, violence and aggression, risk management and manual handling to ensure that accidents and incidents are kept to a minimum.
On the security front in addition to security officers the Trust has invested in CCTV equipment, runs police surgeries and a Hospital Watch scheme. The focus is to raise awareness of security.
There are restaurants and cafes at Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital. Selected food is provided at a discounted rate for staff and healthy options are available.
