University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) completed a merger by acquisition of Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (HEFT) on 1st April 2018.  Due to historical differences in data collection/reporting across UHB and the former Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust this response has been provided by hospital site: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) and Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospital (HGS)

  1. What is the name of your Order Communications system? QEHB – Developed internally within our in-house EPR. HGS – Developed internally.

  3. What is the solution’s contract end date? Not Applicable
  4. Is the trust planning to go out to procurement within the next 6 months for a new order communications and results reporting solution? No
  5. If the trust is planning to go out to procurement, which framework does it plan to use? Not Applicable
  6. Which of the following clinical departments within the trust currently use an order communications and results reporting solution? QEHB – The order communications solution for imaging and blood sciences is rolled out across all in patient areas.  Imaging is across all in-patient and outpatient areas.

    HGS – We have an order communications solution for imaging and blood sciences.

  7. Which of these departments’ systems are currently integrated with the order communications and results reporting solution?HGS – None of the above systems are integrated for order communications, but all reporting is presented within out portal for imaging and blood sciences.

    QEHB – the EPR has the ability to take direct feeds from all agreed departmental systems.

  8. Does the trust extend their order communications and results reporting services to GP Practices? Yes
