Freedom of Information Request: 0560 2019/20
I would like to know the amount of cases in A&E over the last year Jan 01 2019 – Dec 31st 2019, that have involved a person below the age of 10-years-old arriving in A&E at this trust due to having swallowed a foreign object. I would also like this information for the same request and timeframe for 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
I would also like this data in a spreadsheet with cases broken down by date, location, age and gender, if possible. Also, if possible, what the object was that had been swallowed in each case.

The Trust does hold the information you have requested around the objects that were swallowed, however we are withholding this information under Section 40 (Personal Information) of the Freedom of information Act (2000) as it is not in a retrievable format.
We do not centrally store this information and were we to review individual patient records we would be in breach of the second data protection principle “Personal information must be processed for limited purpose”. We are therefore withholding this information under Section 40 of the Freedom of Information Act.
