Coming to an Appointment

This section should guide you through everything you need to know about your appointment. We will take you through the process from the initial booking stage right through to what to bring and what to do on arrival.

Within three weeks of the referral to the hospital from your GP we will send an acknowledgement letter informing you of the name of your consultant. You will then receive a confirmation of the appointment date and time four weeks prior to your visit.

The timing of your appointment is dependent on the length of wait to see your particular consultant and the priority given to your case by that consultant. However, we hope that this will be within 13 weeks of the referral.

Please remember that simply not attending means that other people will have to wait longer to be seen

Should you feel that your condition has deteriorated and you need to be seen sooner, please refer back to your GP who will contact us on your behalf if necessary.
