Maternity – Good Hope Hospital

mother - chelsea Hadland email midwife - Alex

The Good Hope site in the suburbs of Sutton Coldfield provides holistic and individualised care to clients across the north of Birmingham, Tamworth, and also from its sister hospital at Heartlands.

We provide care tailored to the needs of the individual, whether this be in conjunction with consultant Obstetricians, or totally in the care of the midwives.  Our delivery suite has 10 en-suite rooms, 2 birthing pools and a low risk tranquil room for birth.  We have an on-site anaesthetist for women whose preference is epidural for labour.

Our special care baby unit has facilities to cater for babies who are born prematurely at 34 weeks gestation and above, but works in alongside our sister hospital Heartlands to provide care for babies born at an earlier gestation.

There are two operating theatres based on delivery suite for smooth transition either in the emergency or planned situation.

We understand that pregnancy and childbirth is a very special time, for parents and family, therefore actively encourage partners and husbands to stay overnight on our post natal wards, and for the women who wish to go home early, there is the option of having an early discharge from the delivery suite.

At Good Hope we pride ourselves in providing quality and personalised care and work in conjunction with community and clinic staff to ensure that the needs  are met within the remits of safety.  Supervisors of midwives are available 24 hours of the day to ensure your voice is heard, and maintain safety and appropriate practise.
