Support your local hospital at free family fun day this weekend

There will be a host of attractions on offer for all ages at a special free family fun day taking place in Sutton Coldfield this weekend supported by the Good Hope Hospital Charity.

The Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust Family Fun Day takes place on Saturday 13 May between 10am and 3pm at the Ramada Hotel in Penns Lane, Sutton Coldfield.

With FREE parking, FREE entrance (no tickets necessary) and a range of FREE attractions the event offers an affordable and entertaining day out for staff, friends, families and hospital supporters.

Among the entertainment on offer on the day will be a bouncy castle, bungee trampolines, donkey rides, vintage cars, an animal man with mobile zoo, a puppet show, bucking bronco, face painting, hair braiding, slides and a range of children’s rides.

There will also be a range of stalls selling items such as sweets, arts and crafts and children’s books, as well health information stands and St John’s Ambulance in attendance.

If you want to grab something to eat and drink as well there will be plenty of refreshment choices on offer to keep you refuelled.

Many attractions will be free but there will be some fundraising on the day for the Good Hope Hospital Charity Fund which supports patients, families and staff over and above the core NHS funding.

Chief executive of the Good Hope Hospital Charity Mike Hammond said the charity was delighted to support the family fun day and raise awareness of how the charity can support the hospital.

He said: “We are delighted to support the Family Fun Day which we hope will bring everyone together to support their local hospital and have a great time to boot. There is so much on offer for everyone to enjoy and with free parking and many free attractions it is a really affordable day out.

“The Good Hope Charity supports patients, families and staff by providing those added extras which cannot be provided by the NHS. Events such as the fun day help to raise both awareness of the charity but also vital funds to boost what we can offer.”
