Visiting our Hospitals

visiting imageWe hope this section will help to make your visit to hospital a little easier. If you are a patient, your appointment letter will tell you which hospital and which department to come to. Please check this carefully for the time and date of your appointment. We welcome visitors and appreciate that your empathy and support can play a vital role in your relative’s or friend’s recovery, provided the care team feels your relative or friend isn’t too tired or unwell.

Sometimes patients may simply want to rest after their operation or treatment, and may ask not to receive visitors or phone calls. For this reason, it’s a good idea to phone and check before you visit.

If your relative or friend isn’t fit enough to receive visitors, we’ll let you know when it would be more appropriate for you to come in.

If you are a visitor for the first time
  • Make sure you know the name of the person you are visiting
  • Find out which ward they are on from their nearest relative
