University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) completed a merger by acquisition of Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (HEFT) on 1st April 2018.  Due to historical differences in data collection/reporting across UHB and the former Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust this response has been provided by hospital site.

  1. The number of EU nationals (non UK citizens) working as staff for this NHS Trust in the years between 2012 and 2018, both included.
  2. The number of foreigners non-EU nationals working as staff for this NHS Trust in the years between 2012 and 2018, both included.
  3. The number of workers with unknown nationality working for this NHS Trust in the years between 2012 and 2018, both included.
  4. If possible, I would like to get all this data broken down into the following categories: nursing staff, medical staff, healthcare assistants and administration staff.

I was wondering if the UHB hospital has any current policies or guidelines regarding the allowance or support available for families wanting to witness resuscitation of a loved one.

Please see attached policy (paragraph 3.8). Please note, this policy relates to Queen Elizabeth Hospital only. The hospitals that formed the former Heart of England Foundation Trust (Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull Hospitals) do not currently have any policy or guidance relating to witnessing resuscitation in place.

All policies are currently in the process of being aligned.

I have noticed that a few of your trust’s VNA clinical systems with Agfa have expired in 31-03-2019.

May I ask if the system above has a new contract expiration date and are they annually renewed?

Please let me know if they are still in use and if not, what supplier systems have replaced them.

The Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull Hospital VNA was an archiving component within their Agfa PACS contract which has been extended until 31/12/2019. However a new VNA contract for all UHB sites has been signed with Carestream Health and is due to commence in July 2019 for an initial 5 year term.

1. In the past five calendar years (2014-2018), how many anorexia patients in this trust were readmitted into hospital? Please can I have this information broken down for each year. I would like the information represented as a figure and as the percentage of all admissions that year.

Please see the below clarifications:

1. By “readmitted”, I refer to patients of anorexia nervosa who have been admitted into hospital within 12 months of being previously discharged

2. By “all admissions”, I refer to all admissions for anorexia nervosa, and not all admissions for eating disorders or mental health problems

3. If applicable, I would like the information for under 18s and 18+; please could I have this information separately

Please see attached document.
