All-diabetes pro cycling team visiting Heartlands

To mark Diabetes Week (11-17 June) members of the world’s first all-diabetes professional cycling team, Team Novo Nordisk, will be visiting Heartlands Hospital during their week-long ‘Pedal for 7’ challenge.

The Pedal for 7 challenge will see two members of Team Novo Norsdisk joined by employees from global healthcare company Novo Norsdisk, the team’s sponsor, cycle through seven cities in five days with the goal of inspiring people with diabetes to help control their condition through a healthy and active lifestyle.

They will be meeting as many healthcare professionals and patients as possible throughout the challenge and on day three of their ride will be stopping off at Heartlands.

Justin Morris from the team will be on hand for a presentation and Q&A session about the team’s inspirational story and how they manage their diabetes while competing at the very top of their sport at MIDRU, between 12.30pm and 2pm on Wednesday 14 June. Staff and patients are invited to go along.

For more information or to RSVP, please contact Giles Grant at GILG@novonordisk.com. You can also find out more about the team at www.teamnovonorsdisk.com, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TeamNovoNordisk or on Twitter @teamnovonorsdisk.
