University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) completed a merger by acquisition of Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (HEFT) on 1st April 2018. For the purposes of this request we have answered on behalf of what was HEFT i.e. Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals and community services. 

 

I require the following  regarding the ESR system at HGS

1.Who oversee the ESR system?

Jean Devenney is the ESR Lead

2.How much is the annual cost?

No known costs as this is a national system that is linked to the Oracle finance ledger system.

 3.How many staff are required to run the system?

4

4.How many staff have administrative permissions in ESR?

14

5.What is the cost of an individual SMART card or of a bulk buy?

There is no cost to the Trust as they are provided by NHS Digital.

6.What are the training costs, regarding how to use the SMART card and system?

This information is not recorded as free training is provided from IBM and following this it would be internal shadow training costs rather than formal training sessions.
