University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) completed a merger by acquisition of Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (HEFT) on 1st April 2018.

- Is there any variation in these policies across different sites?
There is variation between sites as regards the attached two Smoke-free policies but this is as a result from the recent merger.
The Heart of England Foundation Trust was acquired by merger on 1 April 2018 by University Hospitals Birmingham.
The policy which refers to the Heart of England Foundation Trust applies to those sites (Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals as well as various satellite sites) which made up the Heart of England Foundation Trust prior to the merger.
The policy which refers to University Hospitals Birmingham applies to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and those satellite sites which were classed as University Hospitals Birmingham prior to the merger.
The Trust is currently working to align the policies so that there is no difference between them.
