Under the freedom of information act we are asking all departments if they could give us information on the following things:
- Does your Maxillofacial Department have an Orthodontic Department?
We have Orthodontic Services at Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital, and provide a cleft service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham
- What is your management structure for the department, sisters, RGN’s, Senior Dental Nurses’, Dental Nurses’?
At Solihull the department is managed by the Principle Dental Nurse, who also acts as line manager to a team of Dental Nurses at both Solihull and GHH
At GHH the department is managed by the Orthodontic Technician.
At QEHB the department is managed by a Band 6 sister.
- Do you work alongside ENT departments and Plastics departments?
Yes
- What is your pay scale for Dental Nurses’ in the department, do you have a mixture of band 4, 5 & 6 and what is the progression pathway for these roles?
Principle Dental Nurse – band 6 (HGS)
2 x Senior Dental Nurse – band 5 (SOL)
1 x Senior Dental Nurse – band 5 (GHH)
2 x Dental Nurse – band 5 (SOL)
