Freedom of Information Request: 0464 2019/20

I would be grateful if you could provide me with the following:

 

1.Pre procedure antibiotic regime relating to cardiac device implantation (pacemaker, ICD, loop recorder) 

All pacemakers and ICD’s have a single dose of intravenous Gentamycin and Teicoplanin (doses adjusted according to body weight) loop recorders receive no pre-op antibiotics.

 

2.Post procedure antibiotic regime relating to Q1 

There is no routine post–op antibiotic regime for any patients under normal circumstances

 

3.Any guidance or SOP where these are referenced.
