University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) completed a merger by acquisition of Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (HEFT) on 1st April 2018.  Due to historical differences in data collection/reporting across UHB and the former Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust this response has been provided by hospital site.

         Consort Healthcare under the PFI contract who in turn sub-contract to KCOM

  1. Annual Spend for each supplier: What is the annual average spending on the supplier above? If there is more than one supplier please split the annual averages spend for each supplier.

The LAN service for the QE is managed by KCom through our PFI but is part of our overall contract for voice and data services so we don’t have a separate cost for this.

  1. Number of Users: Please can you provide me with the number of users this contract covers. Approximate number of users will also be acceptable.

              1 main and a number <10 of smaller satellite sites

The contract is providing support and management of the LAN Infrastructure including break/fix services.

The PFI ICT service was phased in over a number of months, with full service commencing in August 2011.

The maintenance/active element of the ICT contract is due to expire in January 2020. An OJEU advertised procurement is currently in progress to award a new contract.

            For the LAN and Router devices the contract provides a 24/7 monitoring service   which creates incident tickets when an issue is noted. Linked to this kit, there is a break/fix aspect as well, while the core switches enjoy a fully managed service.
From a Wi-Fi point of view, there is a break/fix contract on the controllers.

This will be covered by a new contract which is currently being procured (see below).

 September 2019, but this one will be superseded with a new contract which is currently being tendered for via an OJEU advertised procurement.
