FOI 0799 The Living Wage

Freedom of Information Request: 0799

  1. Does your organisation pay the Living Wage (£9.00 an hour) to all directly-employed staff?

No. Up until 31.3.2019 staff in Band 1 and some staff in Band 2 will earn an annual salary of £17,460 which equates to £8.9293 per hour which is just below the Living Wage. From 1.4.2019 this rate will increase to £9.0274 per hour or £17,652 and so from that date all staff will be paid more than the Living Wage.

These salary levels are agreed nationally and the Trust has no scope to alter them.

  1. Does your organisation pay the Living Wage (£9.00 an hour) to all contracted workers?

The Trust has a staff bank, and staff on this are classed as employees. The minimum rate of pay on the bank is £9.38 per hour.

  1. Are you a Living Wage Employer, accredited by the Living Wage Foundation?

No, the Trust is not accredited by the Living Wage Foundation.

  1. If you are not an accredited Living Wage Employer already, do you have plans to seek accreditation in 2019/20?

There are no plans in place at present.
