• How did the broker tell you that they were being paid for procuring gas & electric contracts?

Energy is purchased though the Trust’s PFI partner who is responsible for negotiation of the contracts and paying the invoices which are then recharged to the Trust.  Any contract with a broker is with the PFI partner.

• Have you had any issues in the past 6 years with energy brokers (and if so, what kind of issues)?

No issues identified.

  Crown Commercial Services (CCS).

• Who within the organisation deals with the energy broker?

Energy and Sustainability Manager.

• Which supplier are the gas contracts with?
  Corona Energy.

• What was the start date of the gas contract?
  The contract with CCS started in 2011.

• What is the end date of the gas contract?
  Currently the gas contract ‘rolls on’ unless the Trust requests termination, in which case the end dates range from 6 months to 30 months.

• Which supplier are the electric contracts with?
  EDF Energy and British Gas Business.

• What was the start date of the electric contract?
  The contract with CCS started in 2011.  

• What is the end date of the gas contract?
  We have presumed that you are asking for the end date of the electricity contract as this question has already been asked. There are various electricity contracts; currently the electricity contracts ‘roll on’ unless the Trust requests termination, in which case the end dates range from 6 months to 30 months.

• How did the broker tell you that they were being paid for procuring gas & electric contracts?
  CCS take a fixed commission rate. The rate of commission for gas is determined by consumption thresholds. For electricity it is determined by the type of supply.
• Have you had any issues in the past 6 years with energy brokers (and if so, what kind of issues)?
