Unlike A&E departments (e.g. 4 Hour target) there is no time limit on patients being in AMU assessment before transfer to a base ward. Each sites operates its own policies and procedures for time guidance, and are generally more flexible given the situation and flow with bed availability throughout the hospital in question.
