FOI 4955 ICT and information systems

  1. What is your Current Healthcare information system? Please see Attachment 1
  2. Which solutions are you using as an Electronic Patient Record We do not have a single EPR system- the systems we use are iCare (in house developed), Concerto, Badgernet (maternity), Auditbase, Proton, SystmOne, CareStream Dental, Bookwise, MSS,
  3. Which solutions are you using as a PACS? Does it have an integrated RIS?  The Trust uses PACS and CRIS, these are managed by a local IT manager within Radiology.
  4. Do you have an operating theatre management software? (If yes, which one?) Yes, Dendrite
  5. Do you have an anaesthesia management software? For the pre-anaesthesia consultation? Anaesthesia management during the procedure? PACU surveillance? (If yes, which one?) No. this is included in the main patient database.
  6. Do you have an ICU management software? (If yes, which one?) No
  7. Is medical data recovered from medical devices and added to the patient record? No
  8. Is there a plan to change any of your existing systems?  (If yes, do you have a determined budget for it?) The Trust is currently reviewing its ICT strategy- any plans for changes to existing systems are subject to approval of the Electronic Patient Record Group (ERPG). There is a pilot project proposed to use an in-house system from another Trust within the Oncology department.
  9. What is your procurement process? Do you go through tenders? use professional buying organisations?This is managed through the Trust procurement team and standard NHS tendering processes apply, including use of G-Cloud.
  10. Who is the person in charge of Anaesthesia? Dr Seetherama Dinesh, Consultant Anaesthetist & Clinical Director
  11. Who is the person in charge of Operating Room management?
    Mr Paul Super, Clinical Director and Tracy Pearson, Group  Manager
  12. Who is your IT manager for clinical software? Within the ICT department the IT manager for clinical software is Dave Hextell, there are also some departmental Clinical IT managers ( responsible for locally managed clinical systems), please see attachment 1 for further details.
