Please could you tell me the cost of feeding one inpatient per day (patient meal day)? I would like the average daily cost for all meals and beverages fed to one inpatient per day.

2016 /2017 Patient Food Costs were £3.68 per head per day (this figure does not include labour, non-pay costs such as disposables, crockery and cutlery etc. or dietary supplements).

Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals provide the wards with all beverages i.e. tea & coffee etc., Heartlands Hospital except when wards run out. All perishable items such as bread, milk, butter and jams etc. are also provided to all wards on all sites by the catering department.
