Can you please email me your policy/guidance on what to do when low staffing is an issue

There is no set guideline of policy that is enacted when staffing levels are below the recommended levels. However, there is a Trust-wide process.
Each case is dealt with on an individual basis and takes into account the resource available on the site where the staffing is low and a review of the acuity and dependency of the patients in the area concerned, in order to make the most appropriate staff moves and to mitigate the risks on the individual area and wider hospital site. Staffing compliance is monitored monthly and reported externally through UNIFY and through to Trust Board.
