FOI HGS0009 Chemotherapy nurse vacancies

1. From the latest data, how many FTE chemotherapy nurse posts in your trust are vacant?
Band 6 x 0.85 vacancies and Band 5 x 5.41 vacancies across three Day Units and one Ward area. One of the units is due to open mid-May and new recruitment is on-going that is reflected in the current vacancies.

2. How many FTE chemotherapy nurse posts do you currently have funded?
Band 6 x 16.5 and Band 5 x 37.13

3. How does this compare to the situation on 1st April 2013? For the sake of clarity: please can you provide answers on the same questions in Q1 and Q2 but for 1st April 2013 if possible.
We do not hold this information as comparable systems were not in place.

4. How are you currently filling the shifts that should be covered by the vacant posts?
Internal bank and external agency, along with Acute Oncology nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist support on the wards and day units.

5. Have you had to offer less regular chemotherapy cycles in any way as a result of this?
We are currently compliant with Cancer Performance targets.
