Hospital to host talk on common chronic pains

Heartlands HospitalWith around one in five adults living with chronic pain, Solihull Hospital’s consultant anaesthetist, Dr Abir Doger will be hosting a talk for locals who wish to find out some of the typical causes and how these pains are treated at the Trust’s pain clinics.

He will also discuss the use of anaesthetics used during tests and surgical treatments.

Dr Doger said: “Chronic pain, which can be caused by poor posture, nerve damage and headaches, is a common condition and the number of people with the condition is on the up.

“Anybody wishing to know more about our role and how chronic pain can be managed should attend the health seminar. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss their own thoughts and experiences of chronic pain along with having the opportunity to find out more about the use of local and general anaesthetics at the Hospital during procedures such as for example wisdom tooth removal, removal of verrucas and warts or hernia repair.”

To book your place at the seminar, which takes place at 5pm in the Education Centre at Heartlands Hospital on 29 April, contact Sandra White on 0121 424 1218 or emailsandra.white@heartofengland.nhs.uk.
