Work is under way to review the information the Trust Board receives. We have looked to other Foundation Trusts to identify any areas of best practice. As well as looking at the type of information the Board reviews, we are also looking at how information flows to the Board through the committees that support it, which has created a strong link to the work stream related to the review of the terms of reference for the Quality and Risk Committee.
At this stage we have identified that a significant amount of useful information is currently reported and we are in the process of identifying additional key indicators that are necessary to help understand the issues facing the Trust. The next stages are to identify how information can best be presented using different methods and formats.
As part of the review we have asked the Breast Cancer Support Group what they feel the Board should be reviewing, and it is hoped that as part of this work each year two or three patient-identified indicators could be used to give the Board further insight into what is important to patients and service users.
