A new city

The UK’s second city is currently experiencing a renaissance. Recent developments have included the rebirth of the Bull Ring, with new Selfridges and Debenhams stores, the canal-side Mailbox, a fashionable feast of designer shops, contemporary bars, art galleries and restaurants; the restoration of Victorian arcades hosting individual treasures and the renovation of modern malls with high street names.

Fans of the arts will love the Symphony Hall, featuring the world’s most famous orchestras and performers, the Birmingham Royal Ballet, the sumptuous Hippodrome and Alexandra Theatres, and its close proximity to Shakespeare’s Stratford upon Avon.

Families will lap up its many tourist attractions, Cadbury World in Bournville, the exhibitions in the National Exhibition Centre, the Sealife Centre and Thinktank at Millennium Point.  West Midlands Safari Park, Drayton Manor Park & Zoo and Alton Towers are all within easy driving distance of Birmingham.

Excellent transport links

Encircled by motorways, Birmingham’s transport links are excellent. It has an International airport, a major train station in Birmingham New Street, and frequent bus services. And its location, at the heart of the country means that you are never far away from countryside: Warwickshire, the Chilterns, the Malverns even the Peak District are all within easy reach.

Sutton Coldfield

Sutton Coldfield is a historical town to the north east of Birmingham, bordering Staffordshire and Warwickshire countryside.  Much of Sutton Coldfield is green space, dominated by Sutton Park.  There is a wealth of community facilities and good schools in the area.  The busy shopping area includes the Gracechurch Centre which has a wide range of high street shops.  The town also offers a large leisure centre and a variety of bars and restaurants.

Solihull

Situated at the geographical heart of the country, and just seven miles from the centre of Birmingham, Solihull is a compact town with an accessible and modern shopping centre. It has been transformed by Touchwood, a truly elegant and impressive shopping complex with cutting edge stores, bars, restaurant and a nine-screen cinema. Meaning ‘soily hill’, and at the edge of the beautiful Warwickshire countryside, it is just two miles from the M42 and has frequent train and bus services to Birmingham and the rest of the West Midlands.
