Plans for new build to be discussed at open meeting

With planning permission now granted for the new Ambulatory Care and Diagnostics Centre (ACAD) at Heartlands Hospital, staff, patients, visitors, members of the public and anyone with an interest in the new build are invited to attend an open engagement meeting on Tuesday 15th May to come and hear about our latest plans.

The plans, which were given planning permission with conditions by Birmingham City Council in January, are that the proposed new building will be located next to the main entrance with entry to the new building for patients planned to be through the main hospital entrance, turning right into ACAD.

The four-storey (including plantroom) building will offer world-class facilities and house a wide range of health services, including outpatients, endoscopy and imaging services, which will care for hundreds of thousands of patients each year. Our intention is to begin construction later this year and to have the facility open and operational by 2020.

The open meeting on the 15th May will be held between 6pm and 7pm at: St Paul’s Centre, 405B Belchers Lane, Bordesley Green, Birmingham, B9 5SY. For more information, please email ACAD@heartofengland.nhs.uk, visit: here or call the communications team on 0121 424 3337.
