Description: Do you have a current, active nursing and midwifery (NMC) pin?

Do you have a desire to work in an acute hospital setting?

The Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope Hospitals in partnership with Queen Elizabeth are running a unique and exciting Return to Acute Care Nursing Programme.

You’ll need to be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council with an active PIN and be currently employed in a non-acute healthcare setting (where you will have a minimum of eighteen months experience.)

We are offering you the opportunity to undertake a 6 month placement to support you to develop your acute nursing skills whilst receiving a Band 5 salary. The programme is designed to bring you up to date with the latest changes and best practice in nursing so that you become competent and confident working in an acute hospital. . You will have a mentor who will support you along the way.

You will learn to:

• assess, implement and evaluate care
• identify factors that indicate complications when caring for acutely ill patients
• make decisions when changes in treatment are required
• admit, transfer and discharge patients
• accurately administer medication

After successfully completing the programme, there will be an opportunity within our acute wards for a permanent role.
