Solihull parenting group awarded prestigious universal quality mark

CANparent Quality Mark 1An innovative parenting model established in Solihull, which helps support parent and child relationships, has been awarded a new quality mark for delivering universal parenting classes, the first of its kind in the UK.

Solihull Approach was awarded the CANparent Quality Mark at the House of Commons last week. The accolade was presented by MP Ed Timpson, parliamentary under secretary of state for children and families.

Hazel Douglas, director of Solihull Approach, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be one of the first organisations to be awarded the CANparent Quality Mark in the UK. The accreditation sets us apart from other organisations, demonstrating that we have met the stringent and professional standards required to receive the quality mark.

“The Solihull Approach model has already been adopted in many countries around the world, including the US, Pakistan, Gibraltar, Iceland and Portugal, because of its proven effectiveness in helping parents to understand the emotional and physical changes that their child is going through. The CANparent Quality Mark acts as a great symbol of recognition and credibility, letting parents know they can expect a high quality service from us.”
