Solihull Together for Better Lives Awards finalists revealed

Outstanding neighbour awardOrganisers today released details of the finalists in the Solihull Together for Better Lives Awards 2015 and Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust is well represented in the nominees.

The inaugural awards attracted over 50 nominations from individuals and organisations across the borough. And there was delight for the Trust after it bagged a number of nominations.

Senior physiotherapist in the Supported Integrated Discharge Service Peter Heald has been nominated in the Care Professional of the Year category, while Senior Dementia Nurse Phil Hall is also shortlisted in the Health Professional of the Year category.

Meanwhile there were also nominations for the Dementia Discharge to Assess ward team (Care Team of the Year) and overall for the Dementia Discharge to Assess service (Award for Dementia-friendly Service), a service launched last year in partnership between the Trust, Solihull CCG, Solihull Council and other health and social care bodies in the region.

Winners in each category will be revealed at the awards ceremony on Thursday 19 March, which will be held at the Renewal Conference Centre, Lode Lane. The winner of the Chairman’s Award will also be announced. This special award will be given to an individual or group who, in the opinion of the judging panel, has best demonstrated outstanding commitment to improving the lives of older people in Solihull.

The awards will be presented by the Mayor of Solihull, Cllr Mrs Kate Wild. For more information visit www.solihulltogether.co.uk
