Upcoming health talk discusses bereavement care

Dawn Chaplin

Dr Dawn Chaplin, head of bereavement services at the Trust

Bereavement is the subject of this month’s health seminar at Heartlands Hospital, available to all members of the public.

The health seminar will be led by Dr Dawn Chaplin, head of bereavement services at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Heartlands as well as Good Hope and Solihull Hospital and Community Services. Dawn will discuss the latest initiatives around end of life care, as well as ongoing collaborative programmes with the National Council of Palliative Care and local hospices in the area.

Beginning at 5pm in the Education Centre at Heartlands Hospital on Thursday 17 April, the seminar provides a unique opportunity for attendees to ask any questions around bereavement care and keep up-to-date with all the latest news and developments at the Trust.

Dawn added: “The loss of a loved one is an extremely difficult period for anyone and we are committed to investing in training, resources and campaigns to ensure that patients’ needs are met when discussing this very sensitive issue. I look forward to welcoming people from the local area to discuss the ongoing initiatives in more detail and I am happy to answer any questions the public may have.”
