The first ever charity gala for Good Hope Hospital has been declared a ‘great success’ after raising funds which will go towards vital equipment for the Sutton Coldfield hospital, part of the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust.
The Black Tie Ball was held at the exclusive New Hall Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield and was organised by the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust charity and raised a fantastic £1,987 through sponsorship, ticket sales, a charity auction, raffle and casino.
The event was organised to raise money for chemotherapy and cancer equipment for the hospital, particularly for a bladder scanner for the Urology Unit which will help to diagnose prostate-related conditions more effectively.
Richard Parker, Managing Director at Good Hope Hospital, said the evening had been a ’fantastic success’ and thanked everyone who helped to stage the event and raise much-needed funds.
He said: “It was an amazing night and a very successful first charity ball. Even though the event was focused on raising money for Good Hope, we had several Trust staff that attended from Heartlands and Solihull as well, which demonstrates that ours is a united, cohesive Trust and together we can achieve so much for the benefits of our patients.
“I would like to give a special thanks to our sponsors Healthcare at Home, Vanguard Healthcare, Sixth Sense Hair & Beauty and Midland Heart, without which this event would not have been possible.”
Event organiser and community fundraiser at the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust charity, Samantha Howell, added: “I’m very happy the event was a success and the money raised will be going towards such a worthwhile piece of equipment. I would like to thank everyone who came and supported the event.”
