Good Hope Hospital, part of Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, is looking for helpful volunteers to get involved in assisting patients and relatives in finding their way when they arrive at the hospital.
Locals who can offer as little as three hours a week to help volunteer will play an important role in relieving the stress and anxiety of a visit to Hospital by providing a friendly face as well as making sure they can find the way to where they need to go without any unnecessary delay.
With over 200 volunteers currently helping out at Good Hope Hospital you will be joining a very special group of people who make a big difference to patients, relatives and staff. So whether you are looking to make new friends or give something back to your local hospital, the Trust’s volunteering team will be happy to meet and discuss what opportunities they can offer.
Emma Hale, head of volunteering and fundraising at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and friendly individuals to make a real difference by helping people find their way around the hospital at what could well be an anxious and stressful time.
“Volunteers across the Trust are a major part of the fabric of our hospitals and provide a vital service that is well appreciated by staff, patients and relatives alike. No experience is needed as training will be given. This type of role may be ideal for someone who is interested in helping out at their local hospital but is unsure about being on wards.”
Volunteering is open to anyone aged 18 upwards. If you are interested, contact the volunteering team on 0121 424 5640 or email volunteering.services@heartofengland.nhs.uk for further information.
